Korean American Foundation Announces 2024 Community Grant Program
Korean American Foundation (KAF) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2024 Community Grant Program that will benefit nonprofit organizations supporting the Korean American community and other underserved communities in Southern California. The application process is now open, with the form and guidelines available on the KAF website, www.KoreanAmericanFoundation.org. The submission deadline is October 7, 2024, and the selected grantees will be announced in November of this year.
Since its founding in 2018, KAF has been dedicated to uplifting the Korean American community by raising and stewarding charitable funds that are invested back into local nonprofits. Through this initiative, KAF continues its mission to inspire a culture of giving, rooted in both Korean and American traditions, and to empower our future generations in pursuit of a more equitable society.
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are thrilled to be able to grant over $500,000 this year,” said Kevin Kang, Chairman of the Korean American Foundation. “Our donors’ commitment ensures that KAF continues to serve as a trusted steward of charitable funds within our community for years to come. We look forward to supporting organizations that have a proven impact, helping to improve the welfare of residents in our community.”
The Korean American Foundation has already distributed $1.16 million in grants since 2021, supporting 20 nonprofit organizations that make a meaningful difference in the community. The Foundation’s goal is to establish a $10 million endowment fund in the coming years, driven by contributions from 100 Founder’s Circle Members who each pledge $100,000 or more. This endowment will allow KAF to continue providing essential funding to local nonprofits and foster a legacy of giving for future generations.
Nonprofits interested in applying for KAF’s 2024 Grant Program can download the application form and review the guidelines on the KAF website. For more information on how to apply, or how to become a Founding Member, please visit www.KoreanAmericanFoundation.org.
