Korean American Foundation Launches 2025 Community Grant Cycle

Korean American Foundation (KAF) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2025 Community Grant Cycle on May 19.

Korean American Foundation (KAF) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2025 Community Grant Cycle on May 19. Nonprofit organizations serving under-resourced and underserved individuals and families in Southern California – with a special focus on serving the Korean American community – are encouraged to apply by July 14. Grant recipients will be celebrated at a Grant Award Ceremony this November.

KAF fulfills its mission by raising and stewarding charitable funds to strengthen local communities and promote a culture of giving rooted in both Korean and American values. In addition to its annual community grants, KAF partners with donors through Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) to support causes year-round. Already in 2025, KAF has distributed $568,500 in DAF and restricted fund grants.

This year’s Community Grants will focus on seven key funding priorities:

  • Housing Assistance
  • Hardship Support
  • Senior Care & Well-Being
  • Mental Health & Disabilities
  • Community Development
  • Next Generation Development
  • Inter-Community Relations

“We are proud to support nonprofits that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors,” said John Lim, Board Chair of KAF. “With our sights set on building a $100 million endowment by 2030, we’re committed to ensuring that vital services and programs will remain accessible for generations to come.”

In 2024, KAF awarded over $525,000 to 27 organizations. Since 2020, it has granted more than $2.25 million to 38 organizations dedicated to improving lives across Southern California.

This year, all grant applications must be submitted online. The application and guidelines are available at: www.koreanamericanfoundation.org/grants

KAF extends its deepest gratitude to its Founders Circle Members, whose contributions of $100,000 or more are building the foundation for a strong, sustainable future.

In conjunction with this year’s grant cycle, KAF has also relaunched its website to better serve grant applicants, donors, and community partners. Explore the new site at: www.koreanamericanfoundation.org
